Terms of Service
Effective 1 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Herd Planner. By creating an account or using Herd, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact: support@herdplanner.com.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Give accurate information, verify an email address you control, protect your credentials and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.
The service
Herd provides group-planning, communication, cost-allocation and record-keeping tools. Features may change during early access. We will use reasonable care to operate the service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Payments and group money
Herd does not currently process, receive, hold, safeguard or transfer user funds. Payment instructions, balances and contribution records are planning records only. Any bank transfer, cash payment, refund or other settlement happens directly between group members through services they choose. Verify recipient details independently before sending money. Herd is not a bank, payment service provider, escrow service or provider of payment protection.
Organisers and event members
Organisers control event membership, access, plans and cost allocations. They must have a lawful reason to invite people and share their information, explain material costs accurately, and resolve group disputes fairly. Members remain responsible for checking bookings, prices, travel requirements and payment details.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Herd unlawfully, fraudulently, deceptively or to harass another person;
- upload malicious code or attempt to bypass access, rate, privacy or security controls;
- impersonate someone, register an email you do not control, or scrape other users’ information;
- use Herd to facilitate prohibited goods, money laundering or unauthorised financial services; or
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other rights.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a limited licence to host, reproduce, transform and share it only as needed to operate, secure and improve Herd. You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit it. Remove content you no longer want shared before leaving an event where possible.
Suspension and ending use
You may stop using Herd at any time and can request account closure at privacy@herdplanner.com. We may restrict or suspend access to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law or address a serious breach. Some financial, audit and dispute records may need to be retained after closure; see our Privacy Policy.
Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, Herd is not responsible for third-party bookings or services, group-member conduct, independently transferred funds, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when these terms were accepted. Consumer rights remain unaffected.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes and will give reasonable notice of material changes. English law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law, including the courts where you live in the UK.
